Nightsafe partners are taking steps towards a peaceful Christmas in our town centres this year by issuing such Christmas cards to 150 people who have received either a warning or have been reported for alcohol related crime and anti social behaviour this year.

The cards, which feature Father Christmas on the cover with the message ‘Make sure this is the only Nick you’ll be seeing this Christmas’, aim to remind previous offenders that alcohol related crime, disorder and anti social behaviour will not be tolerated in Wycombe District.

Ch Insp Stuart Craik, Deputy Commander for Wycombe Local Police Area,
said: "This initiative is part of our continued work with partner agencies to ensure that locals have a safe night out. We take a robust approach in tackling alcohol-related crime and disorder and hope these cards will deter offenders, reminding them that criminality will not be tolerated, especially over the Christmas period."

Councillor Tony Green, Wycombe District Council’s Cabinet Member for Younger and Older People, commented: "We want everyone to enjoy a good night out in our town centres but we also want to make sure they have a safe night out. These cards are a fantastic way of getting the message across to people that their behaviour was unacceptable and we hope it will make them think twice before behaving that way again."

Nightsafe, a multi-agency partnership, involves the Wycombe Community Safety Partnership working alongside Pubwatch and, most importantly, the licensees to improve the quality of night life in town centres across the district. Nightsafe aims to do this by increasing public confidence and perception of safety, reducing incidences of alcohol related violence and disorder and continuing effective licensing enforcement.
