The Future of Cash conference on April 11 and 12 in Paris is aimed at banking, finance and retail sector figures involved in all aspects of cash handling, whether central and commercial banks, retailers, CIT companies and suppliers of cash optimisation solutions.
The event is organised by Guillaume Lepecq of AGIS Consulting, who said: โCash will remain an important part of the payments industry for years to come โ which, for banks, means finding ways to optimise the use of cash and make it as efficient as possible. The conference will focus on the optimisation of the cash cycle, bringing together stakeholders to discuss new strategies for creating the cash cycle of the future.โ
Speakers will include Kabir Sehgal, author of the international bestseller โCoined โ The Rich Life of Money and How its History has Shaped Usโ, and Banque de Franceโs Alain Gerbier, who will explain the modernisation of Franceโs cash infrastructure.
Sessions from the European Central Bank, US Federal Reserve, Bank of England, De Nederlandsche Bank and Portugalโs Caixa Geral de Depositos will cover The Evolution of Cash Demand.
A debate featuring the ECB, the Bank of Finland, Cashway, the Federal Reserve and Kabir Seghal will discuss how innovation contributes to improving cash efficiency and identify which technologies and processes are currently on the radar.
Further sessions will examine the new opportunities for improving cash distribution and recirculation and the impact recent changes in the cash supply chain have had on central banks, commercial banks and CIT companies.
The contractor G4S will present the companyโs latest cash report, examining cash cycles in 28 countries, what drives the use of cash in Europe, and why it is still so popular. Delegates will receive the G4S report and โCash Essentials โ Beyond Paymentsโ, a new AGIS Consulting report analysing the attributes of cash beyond payments, providing a global perspective on cash usage and payment.
