New arm for property management firm

by Mark Rowe

Ad Hoc Property Management, a company offering Property Guardians, has launched a new business division alongside its core, Ad Hoc Security UK Limited.

The company already guards vacant property, commercial and residential. It says the new arm of the business will focus solely on security and technology, using its security guards and Cyclops-powered ‘Smart Camera Tower’ (pictured in use at night), and alarms for property protection.

The new area of business will operate out of Ad Hoc’s Midlands office in Birmingham, but will have a national mandate with Darren Tubb, former area manager for the Midlands, heading the new division as UK General Manager. He’s worked with Ad Hoc since 2010.

Darren Tubb said: “Building on our core business while offering clients a niche expertise in real estate protection and security services is an exciting development for Ad Hoc. The range of products that Ad Hoc offer are some of the best in the industry and will allow property owners to protect and monitor their properties 24/7.”

While security guards are an option for immediate property protection against trespassers and vandals, on the technology side the alarm can detect motion, heat, threshold breaches, and smoke; while the camera tower, sitting at six metres, offers a 360 degree camera which can be programmed to move zones at set intervals. The camera also provides a 36x optical zoom and 12x digital zoom.

Simon Finneran, Managing Director of Ad Hoc Property Management, said: “All of our security solutions have been deployed by a number of clients around the UK who have found success in protecting their properties. The Smart Camera Tower in particular uses a state-of-the-art technology, the same technology as used by US defence centre The Pentagon, giving property owners the peace of mind they need when leaving property or land unattended. Ad Hoc is the first business in its industry to have launched a charter to underpin and safeguard excellent working relationships with its Guardians, and now with the addition of the security services, Ad Hoc is the first to develop business that offers specifically tailored security solutions. That is why I believe we remain the go-to organisation for nearly all vacant property protection services.”

Ad Hoc Property Management, mainly known for property guardianship, founded in the Netherlands in 1990, where the property guardianship model originated, set up its first UK office in 2006. The ‘Property Occupation Model’, where ‘Property Guardians’ move into a range of vacant commercial and residential buildings, also acts against fly-tipping and squatting. Some buildings, or parts, are simply not suitable for living in, hence Ad Hoc’s new security business; visit: www.adhocproperty.co.uk.
