Recruitment firm in finals

by Mark Rowe

Fire & Security recruiters Eligo have been selected as finalists in three categories within the Merton Best Business Awards including Best Business in SW19, Best Business in Wimbledon, and Best Enterprising Business with a further public vote nomination for Best Customer Service.

Eligo recruit fire and security people for manufacturers, installers, integrators and end users in the UK. The Wimbledon-based firm regularly exhibits and attends industry events such as Professional Security’s Security TWENTY series (pictured: Nottingham, February 2015).

Merton’s awards, supported by the local chamber of commerce, recognise businesses that show initiative, boldness and imagination in enterprise, as well as sound management practices. Entrants are expected to demonstrate sustainable growth combined with a degree of commercial success exceptional for the size of the business. Eligo has humble beginnings; started in 2001 by directors John Doherty and Andy Molloy.

Andrew Molloy, co-founder of Eligo, said: “We have since grown into a company with five divisions and over 30 individuals who love their job and have passion and knowledge for their respective markets. As such we are particularly proud of this recognition of our entrepreneurial nature, caring for our staff, input into the local community, and success.”

The fire and security division of the business was launched by director John Guest, five years ago. In four years Eligo Fire & Security has placed in excess of 600 people, with more than 100 businesses, and has grown to a team of seven consultants.

Fire and Security was the first division to embrace new products and services that Eligo have launched including Eligo IQ – the intelligent recruitment process. Eligo IQ is an online, multi-media platform, offering an intergrated process for clients to present themselves in a consistent format; candidates present themselves through video, behavioural assessment and key competency profilings, accessible to key stakeholders. Eligo Fire & Security now has several key clients working on a retained basis using that Eligo IQ service.

The Merton Best Business Awards Grand Final will run on September 24, at the All England Tennis Club, Wimbledon, with finalists, dignitaries, and event sponsors in attendance.
