Tag for high heels

by Mark Rowe

One of the most theft-prone items in retail is ladies footwear, particularly for retailers in self-service environments such as discounters, mass merchants and hypermarkets. To date, effective anti-theft tagging solutions were not available for high heels. Many current solutions are clumsy, conspicuous or impede the trying on process-disrupting the buying experience, according to Tyco Retail Solutions. The company has brought out a footwear tag designed the makers say to guard shoe styles that fall in the “difficult to protect” category.

Tyco Retail Solutions’ new Sensormatic Acousto-Magnetic hard tag for high heel footwear connects to the back of the heel and is applied with an adjustable knob for secure application to any style of pump or heel. Nancy Chisholm, vice president and general manager, Tyco Retail Solutions, said: “The only tag of its kind, our new anti-theft tag for footwear serves as a strong visual deterrent to would be thieves and ensures merchandise is optimally protected while preserving the bottom line. Backed by the genuine Sensormatic Acousto-Magnetic technology, retailers can rest easy knowing what was once their most theft-prone item is now one of the most secure products on the shelf.”
