Tech officer for incident management software

by Mark Rowe

Raven, the real time incident management software, has appointed to the board Gavin Dutch, pictured, as Non-Executive Chief Technology Officer. This follows Raven’s deployment at this year’s Ryder Cup in Paris and European Championships in Glasgow.

Dutch has worked over 15 years in the tech sector. In 2007 he founded Kotikan, a Scottish mobile app development agency. Developing apps for companies such as the SQA, Standard Life and Skyscanner, the latter of which gained about 20 million users within a year. In 2015 FanDuel acquired Kotikan with Gavin joining the unicorn’s Product Development leadership team, working with C-level executives on the delivery culture of software development. Raven is looking to establish itself as a crisis and incident management software provider. Raven is recruiting software engineers including front and back-end developers as well as sales and marketing people.

Dutch said: “With Raven we’re digitising incident management, response and tracking, a set of processes for which many stadiums and arenas still depend on pen and paper. In order to succeed we need a passionate team of software professionals who are excited to revolutionise the way that event organisations manage safety.

“Raven is showing great potential at the moment and is in a unique position to rapidly scale to global prominence. It’s an exciting time to join the company. Having worked with Skyscanner and FanDuel early in their journeys, it’s great to be part of another innovative Scottish company showing such great promise.”

Raven Controls MD, Ian Kerr, added: “It’s great to have Gavin working with us as we develop our technical strategy. We’re building a developer team from scratch so having Gavin’s expertise to call upon as we shape our culture is a great asset which will ensure we are on a good footing moving forward.”
