Evolution Retail has been appointed the UK agent for Gripzo, the manufacturer of security mounts for electronics retailers. Gripzo provides mechanical security in a patented design, which has a release mechanism so that staff and customers can handle a product without sensors, cables and alarms interfering with the user experience, the makers say.
The mechanical fixtures for smartphones and tablets can prevent ‘cut and run’ thefts, the manufacturers add. Authorised staff use a key to release the device, which also enables the removal of the devices by staff for safe keeping after closing hours.
Robert Van Balen, Sales Director at Gripzo, calls it a hassle-free security system: “Gripzo devices showcase products and provide an aesthetically pleasing look to stores. An added benefit is increased customer interaction due to staff having more ‘talk time’ with potential customers, usually resulting in increased sales.”
Philip McKelvey, Head of Retail Sales at Evolution added: “We are pleased to be able to offer our customers the Gripzo tablet grip and phone holder, which are both superb products. UK customers will also be able to benefit shortly from the launch of a Gripzo smartwatch security device too, so watch this space.”
The Gripzo tablet grips are used across all Argos’ 750 UK stores and in all the 02 stores in Ireland. Gripzo is rolling out 8,000 units of the tablet and phone holders to a South African telecoms firm. The product is picutred securing iPhone 7s.
Evolution Retail is the retail division of Evolution, the Buckinghamshire-based installer of fire and security products. The new retail division is based in Chelmsford.
