Fire alarm panels

by Mark Rowe

Rethinking cable management through decreased cable count reduces the cost to install, and speeds system set-up by simplifying connectivity. Kentec say that their new EN54 approved, AlarmSense fire alarm panels can give a 20 to 25 per cent reduction in set-up time compared with a standard four-wire conventional system. This is possible because all devices in a given zone can be wired to the same pair of cables.

Kentec’s new range of Sigma CP-A AlarmSense compatible 2, 4 and 8 zone fire alarm control and indicating panels, approved and certified to EN54 parts 2 and 4, can it is claimed particularly give time and cost savings for small to medium sized buildings. The AlarmSense range allows Apollo AlarmSense devices, including smoke and heat detectors, call points, base sounders, base sounder-beacons and relay units, to be wired to the same pair of cables, with configuration for common, zonal or two-stage alarm by setting one of the panels configuration options. Alarm verification comes via the general and local alarm facility on AlarmSense sounders and beacons, which is particularly of use the makers add in Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMO) such as student accommodation or nursing homes.

All control panels have an integral, mains powered battery charger and power supply compliant with the requirements of BS EN54-4.
