Fire detector market

Xtralis, the smoke detector product and safety and security product company, reports that it continues to grow market share according to the latest IHS Technology report, ‘The World Market for Detection and Suppression Products – 2014 Edition’. The US-based market research company reports that among fire detector manufacturers Xtralis rose from number seven in 2006 to number four in 2013 with a 6.3 per cent global market share, up from 5pc in 2006. Xtralis claims that it continues to have a lead in the aspirating smoke detection (ASD) category of fire detectors, with an estimated 61.3pc share, up over 15pc from 2006. That share does not include China, where Xtralis believes its market share exceeds 80pc from sales of its VESDA, ICAM, and FMST ASD products. Xtralis manufactures VESDA and ICAM ASDs globally, and FMST ASDs in China. According to the IHS report, the ASD market will see a 2013-2018 compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.7pc. Visit www.xtralis.com.
