IDS reports that its in-house team comes from IT and network backgrounds. They have witnessed 360 degree fisheye cameras grow in popularity, and they are now viewed a method to monitor all angles of a location using one camera. However, although fisheye cameras are efficient at providing panoramic views, some users often find that they are not enough for delivering detailed and rapid zoom-ins to points of interest. To address this, IDS’ technology partner GeoVision recently launched the GV-PPTZ7300. That’s a US-patented 360 degree anti-blind spot 7 megapixel network camera that combines the panoramic qualities of a fisheye camera with the tracking and zoom ability of a speed dome, the makers say.
This model, which integrates a 5MP fisheye lens with a 10x zoom module, allows users to achieve a 360 degree panoramic view and still perform pan/tilt/zoom on specific points of interest with a click of the mouse. To aid tracking, the GV-PPTZ7300 comes with a zoom module to automatically track moving objects within the range of view. With its IP67 weather protection this model is suitable for use outdoors and also retains the installation features of earlier models.
