Fund-raising for NHS Charities Together

by Mark Rowe

Dahua Technology UK has raised nearly £14,000 for NHS Charities Together, which represents 240 NHS charities across the UK. The money was raised by an incentive scheme for Dahua’s distributors, whereby each thermal monitoring solution sold over a month triggered a donation by Dahua of £50 or £100, depending on the product.

Michael Lawrence, Dahua’s Marketing Director for the UK and Ireland said: “Working within and contributing to local society is one of our key values at Dahua Technology. Through the fantastic work and continued support of our partners, we are delighted to make this donation to NHS Charities Together. This worthy charity provides services above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide, touching lives and making a huge difference to millions of people when they are at their most vulnerable.”

Dahua says that its range of thermal monitoring products can be used to monitor the body temperatures of visitors and staff. Accurate to within +/-0.3oC, they can also screen people at distances of up to 4.5 metres. Facial recognition is integrated with body temperature monitoring. The Dahua NVR options provide storage of facial images and temperature information, allowing for historical access. The cameras can also be integrated with third-party products, such as turnstiles and VMS (video management software).

Typically, a system will comprise a Dahua thermal hybrid network camera, a blackbody to provide a constant reference temperature, a full HD monitor and a 16-channel network recorder (NVR). If the wearing of masks is required, the system is designed to detect people who are not wearing them. It can also be integrated with Dahua’s people-counting software to help enable social distancing.
