Hikvision hails number one slot

According to the latest report from the US-based business market research firm IHS Inc, the Chinese CCTV manufacturer Hikvision is the world’s number one CCTV and Video Surveillance Equipment company; the fourth year in a row that Hikvision has topped the list. The company’s 16.3pc total market share in terms of revenue is up by more than 50pc compared with the previous year and more than double its 8pc market share of just two years ago.

Hikvision points to how it has claimed the number one position in every individual equipment category and makes up 18.9pc of the global network security camera market, an increase of 5.9 percentage points in revenue market share compared with last year’s number two position (13pc) in this fast-growing camera sector. The report also highlights the company’s efforts in overseas markets over the years by ranking number two in CCTV and Video Surveillance Equipment category in the EMEA market, achieving a 9.2pc market share.
