LED backlight monitors

by Mark Rowe

New from Grundig Security are entry level, flat-screen, LED backlight monitors. According to the German makers, the monitors are suitable for use in NVR and DVR surveillance systems that are not continuously monitored. The 19.5-inch, pictured, and 21.5-inch entry-line models come in a 16:9 format. They feature Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, providing clear and detailed images. They have a built-in power supply, designed for 16-7 operation. This keeps energy consumption and manufacturing costs down, the makers add.

Each monitor has VGA and HDMI ports optimised for video display and compatible with most leading digital and network recorders. LED backlights help to increase contrast levels and the intensity of black levels, creating natural and accurate screen images. Both models have built-in speakers.

Grundig has also revised its 19-inch, 24-7 monitor, the GML-1931M. This contains similar features to its predecessor with the addition of low reflective, protective glass. The 19-inch monitor, designed for 24-7 operation, also features LED backlights, image enhancement including a 3D comb filter and decoder, built-in de-interlacing and noise reduction. The monitor fits to standard VESA bracket sizes with HDMI, VGA, Audio, 2x BNC IN and 1x BNC loop video connection.
