As part of its new VK2 range of high definition IP CCTV products, Vista has introduced ‘Event Boost’. This enables their VK2 cameras to automatically increase the number of images per second, both streamed and recorded, when an event occurs.
This means a customer can record continuously at low frame rate but, when an event occurs, the camera automatically increases up to 25 images per second 1080p HD video. This reduces the total amount of network bandwidth and NVR storage required to support HD network cameras as the VK2 cameras only require higher network bandwidth during an event. Features include:
• Boosts from low frame rate to 25ips HD video
• Only requires a single channel on the NVR
• Reduces NVR storage requirements
• Minimises network usage
Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director of Vista, says: “To increase the rate of images recorded on alarm is often a struggle on IP systems, with cameras having to occupy two channels of an NVR to manage both recording speeds. Vista’s new Event Boost technology allows the camera to simply increase the rate of images sent in response to an alarm on a single IP stream, greatly simplifying the install and equipment required.”
Event Boost is available on Vista’s latest generation of VK2 IP cameras and is free to download in the form of a firmware update at www.vista-cctv.com/ip.
