Panasonic has unveiled a 3.5mm bezel display for video walls. The new 55-inch TH-55LFV70 display, available from November, has been designed with what the company claims to be the industry’s narrowest bezel, with the screen borders barely visible.
The TH-55LFV70 series features a ‘fail-over system’. With two DVI-D ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, DIGITAL LINK, and USB, if the main video and audio signals are interrupted, the system at once switches to alternative signals. According to the company this makes it suitable for critical applications as in control rooms and surveillance centres. The Tdisplay is also capable of continuous 24/7 operation and supports portrait installation.
Enrique Robledo, Marketing Manager at Panasonic, said: “Because of the in-plane switching IPS) panel, the display offers a wide viewing angle and high picture quality. This is supported by an anti-glare surface treatment and brightness levels of 700cd/m2. The new calibration software within the LFV70 supports third-party sensors ensuring there is no colour variation between displays.”
And as for installation, DIGITAL LINK means video, audio and control signals are sent through a single cable, while the optional rigid frames can be aligned using magnets. Enrique Robledo said: “We’ve been listening to customers who wanted a virtually seamless video wall and are pleased to be able to deliver this with the new LFV70 display. It’s a great addition to Panasonic’s existing range of video wall displays complementing the LFV5 and LFV50 ranges well.”
