BT Facilities Services head

by Mark Rowe

BT Facilities Services (BTFS), a wholly owned subsidiary of BT Group, has appointed Paul Brown as Head of Health, Safety and Environment. The senior role in the BT arm will drive the company’s health and safety plans ensuring that they work with the operations function and achieve the overall aims of the business. The reach of his environment brief will be extensive, the firm says, not only helping BTFS to establish an environmental management system for its own operations, but also supporting clients.

A Chartered safety practitioner, Paul has 30 years of experience in the HSE field, in military, enforcement and commercial FM sectors. He joins BTFS from DTZ, a property management firm, where he was responsible for creating a risk and safety management platform, which not only managed risks for its own employees, but also supported DTZ clients to establish and meet their own HSE targets. Before that, Paul gained his first FM experience working for FM2, a FM (facilities management) company, which became part of Honeywell. He has also held a number of positions as an environmental health technician with a number of local authorities, after learning his trade in the Army.

Paul joins BTFS in January and will be based at the company’s Swindon offices.
