Celtic stewarded

by Mark Rowe

Lionel Messi, Pep Guardiola, Thorgan Hazard (brother of Eden): in the last couple of months SecuriGroup has been securing visitors from FC Barcelona, Manchester City and Borussia Mönchengladbach, as Celtic Football Club has competed in the group stages of the Champions League.

The ACS Pacesetters contractor says those matches at a sold-out Celtic Park – which is trialling standing spectators – have required ‘robust and informed’ security services to manage 60,000 safely. Stewards and SIA-badged staff have been on duty; also traffic management staff, for the safe entry and exit of supporters’ buses at the club’s coach park. Celtic has been a client of Glasgow-based SecuriGroup’s since 2005.
