Data centre deal

by Mark Rowe

A long-term contract to provide manned security services to Pure Datacentres, based at the data centre company’s premises in Birmingham, has gone to Cordant Security. This award adds to the contract security company’s accounts based within the city of Birmingham and across the Midlands, says Cordant.

The security firm will provide a manned security presence at the facility for 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A dedicated team of full-time employees will work at the premises, with at least one supervisor and one officer always on site around the clock. Before working at the site staff completed detailed, intensive training including first aid, public space surveillance (PSS), conflict management and physical intervention.

Cordant says it was awarded the contract ahead of three other security firms, after a competitive tender process, and the agreement has scope for further growth.

Dale Wilkinson, Security Operations Director at Pure Datacentres, said: “Cordant Security has an excellent reputation for providing a professional and high quality service to its clients. This gave us the confidence to enter a long-term agreement with the company and we look forward to a prosperous partnership that will grow over the coming years.”

And Brendan Musgrove, pictured, Managing Director at Cordant Security, said: “This new contract illustrates that we have the capability to deliver outstanding security services within one of the UK’s fastest growing sectors. Our dedicated on-site team will ensure that Pure Datacentres’ facility remains safe and secure at all times.”
