Lock box means no need for external key-holders

by Mark Rowe

The Keyholding Company has partnered with an electronic key safe supplier, Keynetics. The key-holding contractor, an ACS Pacesetters company, says it’s to shake up traditional key-holding and alarm response by removing the need for external key-holders, saving clients money and improving response times.

A new service, Smart Access, is smart locks that use cloud-connected devices. Keynetics’ SentriKey lock box stores keys on-site and at the point of need. When an alarm is triggered, the contractor’s best placed response officer automatically receives response job details and a unique one-time access code for the SentriKey key safe at the property, via their mobile app. The responder travels to the alarm activation without collecting keys from a key vault. As physical keys are kept on-site within the lock box; no need for external key-holders. The firms calculate that businesses could save up to 93pc on their keyholding and third-party access service costs.

The Keyholding Company’s CEO, Charlie Gordon Lennox, sees this as a key step towards more intelligent mobile security services. He says: “Keynetics are a leading supplier in the industry and boast some of the best hardware on the market. Partnerships like ours are essential for the industry to continue innovating and pushing the boundaries.”

And Keynetics’ Managing Director, Stuart Wheeler, says: “We are thrilled to be joining forces with The Keyholding Company who are renowned for being at the forefront of developing smarter, tech-led security solutions. Our highly accredited SentriKey lockbox combined with their expert mobile security services has the power to become a real game-changer for the industry.”
