Securitas has appointed a Marketing and Communications Director.

Cathryn Halton, pictured, joins the security firm from FirstGroup plc, bringing with her over ten years’ experience in marketing and communications across business sectors. During her time at FirstGroup, Cathryn led the firm’s internal communications strategy as part of the wider corporate strategic function.

Cathryn said: “I’m looking forward to joining Securitas at such an exciting time, as we seek to establish the brand in the UK market, differentiating ourselves as the first choice advisor and partner for customers seeking intelligent, risk-based security solutions. Working with the regional teams, my aim is to enhance the local and national profile of the brand, positioning Securitas as one of the leading security companies in the UK. Critical to this will be connecting and engaging our external and internal stakeholders with our vision and demonstrating that we have the experience and expertise to deliver on this commitment.” she added.

Cathryn has previously held roles at G4S Secure Solutions (UK) delivering communications and employee engagement plans in support of the marketing strategy, and at ILLY Computer Systems. She holds a professional diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and has contributed to a number of professional publications and events.

Brian Riis Nielsen, Country President at Securitas, said: “Cathryn has proved herself to be a highly-respected, competent and confident leader who can engage and influence people at all levels. I’m delighted to welcome her to the team and am looking forward to working with her to achieve our business priorities.”

She will be based at the new Securitas Operations Centre in Milton Keynes; to support its sales teams in the development and recognition of the company’s brand.
