Twin Peaks Challenge

by Mark Rowe

It may be May, but there’s still snow on summits. Staff from Incentive FM completed the Twin Peaks Challenge this week. The facilities management company walkers overcame aching limbs and painful blisters to raise £7,000 for charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers during the 24-hour challenge.

The team – Bruce McDonnell, Mark Stevens, Glenn Wilson, Claire Rumsey, Steve Alderson, Susan Louwerse, Sheryl Inman, Andy Robbins, Adam Cross, Annie Karastoyanova and Ben Punter – climbed 3,220ft to reach the summit of Scafell Pike in the Lake District. They came down again to drive north to Fort William to scale Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK at 4,412ft.

Bruce McDonnell, Managing Director at Incentive FM, said after: “Huge congratulations to our energetic team who battled cold conditions to climb these two mountains either side of a long 25-hour drive to the Scottish Highlands. We have raised a substantial amount of money for a fantastic and worthwhile cause, which will make a huge difference to those who have lost parents in tragic circumstances.”

Scotty’s Little Soldiers seeks to support children and young people who have lost a parent while serving in the British Armed Forces. If you’d like to donate, visit this Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/incentive-fm-twin-peaks-challenge.
