Web-based tool

by Mark Rowe

The outsourced services company MITIE has launched a new web-based tool. The contractor says that it’s designed to streamline security processes, manage tasks and record incidents more accurately to help mitigate client security risks.

The firm says that the security management and resilience tool (SMART) will streamline standard operating procedures (SOPs) with an auditable recording and reporting function and a primary alerting system for incidents. Once an incident has been identified, a report is created in real time with updates sent to whoever necessary.

MITIE say that it’s the first security company to offer this type of system, which will see its clients move from paper-based management to paperless control rooms.

Bob Forsyth, pictured, managing director, MITIE’s total security management business said: “Paper-based documents become obsolete almost as soon as they are printed out and put in a file on the shelf – it’s time for our industry to recognise the benefits of online systems like SMART. “Our clients that are already operating with SMART can update their documents just once for all locations, produce reports in real time, and use the data to analyse trend intelligence.”
