Digital ID reports

by Mark Rowe

Greater Manchester based ID and access card firm Digital ID reports that it has grown its turnover and workforce by 25pc during 2013 and has relocated to a new 15,000 square feet headquarters in Stockport to cope with the demand. The company provides card printers, badge holders, software, lanyards and access control cards to UK public and private sector organisations such as BBC, HMRC and Honda. The company aims to increase its turnover to £7.75m during the year ending July 2014.

Its new facilities in Stockport will house back office functions as well as a warehousing and distribution centre which imports and exports products globally, including across Asia, Europe and Africa. The firm has also begun an apprenticeship scheme. Nine apprentices have been recruited, with new recruits taking on responsibilities across the organisation including in sales, purchasing, shipping and accounts.

Jonathan Fell, Managing Director at Digital ID said: “Our new premises are a real milestone for us and have given us the perfect base from which to grow the business. Our success is also, in no small part, down to our talented and growing pool of apprentices who have brought considerable enthusiasm, talent and passion to the business. The access control market continues to develop as security solutions become more and more sophisticated. We’re focused on providing our customers with the most advanced, efficient and cost effective products on the market.”

Other recent initiatives include Trade ID, an online warehouse designed to streamline the purchasing process for trade customers, who can search for stock-inventory in real time and have orders posted directly to clients from the Digital ID warehouse.
