Ecl-ips is 20

by Mark Rowe

Educonnect Limited, which trades as Ecl-ips, is marking its 20th anniversary this year. The company, set up in September 2002, reports it has reached a record turnover.

Managing Director Aaron Kernaghan said: “We are so pleased to have survived these 20 years! Thank you to all the staff who helped us get to 2022 and who are helping us grow further. Here’s to the next 20!”

The company has moved into larger projects and is providing integrated security services to high-net-worth individuals who have a range of needs on their country estates. Aaron said: “I wanted to move away from the five, ten and 20 camera projects into the 50, 100 and 200 camera projects with access control.”

The company adds that it’s on the lookout for skilled and experienced people; it’s seeking a business development executive and at least one new engineer who will be able to support the installation projects under way or in the pipeline. Project engineers should ideally have experience in installing CCTV, intruder alarms and access control systems.

Aaron has been working for Ecl-ips since 2005 and bought out the company in 2007. He at first used his Cisco networking and Netbotz expertise to gain a string of clients. Operations Director, Darren Roe, joined him in 2006 as a project engineer and has then worked his way up through the business.

Since 2007 the data centre and comms room monitoring business has expanded into security and access control. Through partnering with manufacturers and software developers Ecl-ips offers CCTV, access control and intruder alarms.

Darren said: ““We have always looked for products to best suit our portfolio. We do a lot of research and testing. We buy in products to test to see if they suit, and if they don’t suit, we don’t continue, we look at the best solution.”

Lately it’s also been offering body-worn cameras, security fog generators and the HALO smart sensor as a three-in-one health, safety and vape detection device. Visit www.ecl-ips.com.
