IP network-based NVR

by Mark Rowe

Geutebruck’s new net_porter is a pure IP network-based NVR, suitable for almost any application, according to the German CCTV company. The standard model comes with eight separate 1000Base-TX ports for IP camera connection and you can add a further switchboard to provide another eight ports. With an integral 180W PoE 1GBit switch for up to 16 IP cameras, you don’t need any external ancillary components such as camera PSUs, switches or midspan components, the makers add. As for installing and connecting cameras, each camera is automatically allocated its unique IP address using DHCP.

The product offers Geutebruck’s Omnibrid technology which enables you to use different video compression formats within the same system (M-JPEG, H.264 [Multimedia], H264CCTV, MPEG4CCTV, MPEG4CCTV/MP). Other features include TCP/IP digital matrix functionality, port status indicators, centralised IP camera and switch configuration, and remote controlled voltage management with power consumption display for all PoE cameras. net_porter comes with a 2 TB database as standard but can hold up to four internal database disks.
