Server in family

by Mark Rowe

G-Scope/6000 is the Easy Server in the G-Scope video management family from Geutebruck. The German makers describe it as a fully functional server, “out of the box”. It is as easy to install and to use as a PC, the company says.

The 64-bit G-Core video engine with the integrated GPU acceleration guarantees three times faster image processing, while the dual database architecture ensures access to memory images and protection against tampering, it’s claimed. Integrated video analysis provides activity detection for motion-triggered recording or for motion detection indoors, with scene validation for monitoring the cameras. Options include video analysis for outdoor security applications and automatic number plate identification for access control.

A redundant power supply, SSD for the operating system and integrated RAID system provide availability equivalent to that of an IT server. The G-Scope/6000 can meet tasks with just a single device: as eight hard disk slots provide storage capacity for up to 42TByte in RAID5; up to 64 IP and 16 analogue camera inputs make it possible to secure larger systems. The G-Scope/6000 can be integrated into any network, to secure even larger areas or distributed sites, for instance.

G-Scope is available in four series; from the compact devices of the 1000 series to the servers in the 8000 series. Each device offers video management. Hardware and software are all driven by the G-Core video engine, and provide video analysis options and storage capacity. However, each one is designed for a specific application, which is why the makers are introducing them step by step.
