Vista at IFSEC

by Mark Rowe

Vista at stand D1300 at IFSEC are showing their IP networked monitor. Until now, IP systems have required a conventional monitor and decoder to be used, providing D1 resolution images. The new 24-inch and 32-inch monitors from Vista don’t require a hardware decoder and can display high-definition 1080p video from a single stream or four D1 streams from separate cameras in quad format. According to the firm this saves money, is simple to set up and delivers higher resolution images. Because it’s based on ONVIF, it decodes streams from third party cameras. Also new, four and eight camera Quantum network recorders with in-built PoE switches. Designed to look and operate like a standard Quantum DVR, they are to help the switch from analogue to IP. They are particularly for users of Quantum DVRs that want to move to an IP-based system. The in-built PoE switch allows the installer to run a cat5e cable from the NVR to the camera position. The QNVR will then supply the power for the camera – removing the need for, and expense of, extra hardware.
