Key and cylinder version

by Mark Rowe

The product company Abloy UK has launched a new PROTEC2 CLIQ Key and Cylinder, a version of the original CLIQ product. It’s described as a web-based security management solution, which allows for the remote management of disparate or large electronic master-keyed sites at any time, from anywhere.

The system also provides audit trails on cylinders and padlocks and the ability to remove lost or stolen keys from the system, thereby providing tight key management at all times.

The new CLIQ Key offers access a larger memory capacity for users to store more audit trails, and 3500 locks or lock groups can now be programmed in the key. As for battery power, clock and time features now lasting up to ten years. An updated modern design is claimed to be more comfortable to use, and LED indication features on both sides of the key. Space is reserved within the key for an RFID tag should it be required.

Jon Burke, Marketing Manager for Abloy UK, said: “In addition to the updated functionality of the ABLOY PROTEC2 CLIQ Key, we have also made improvements to the ABLOY PROTEC2 CLIQ Cylinder, including improved contacts, a more durable and robust construction, and electronic and mechanical reset for increased security. The new platform enables us to continually develop the features of the system, making it a solid investment for the future for any organisation.”
