Key management

by msecadm4921

At IFSEC 2012 Morse Watchmans launched its  KeyWatcher Touch key control and asset management product to the European market. Also debuting was the KeyWatcher True Touch software. The key control cabinet and software suite is designed the US firm says to meet the needs of enterprises as well as smaller applications.

Fernando Pires, VP Sales and Marketing, Morse Watchmans, said: “KeyWatcher Touch is more than just a large scale automated system for storing and tracking keys. It is the foundation for a solid enterprise-wide key control and asset management solution that can be networked and serve as part of a physical security system.”

New features to make multiple site usage more convenient include a seven-inch capacitive touch screen/LCD display; KeyAnywhere to allow the return of any key to any KeyWatcher cabinet; and KeyFind to quickly find a specific key. Also offered are common usage of databases and programming and the capacity to grow the system as requirements change.

The KeyWatcher Touch is engineered from the ground up to take advantage of newer technologies including a new CPU board with built-in SD card slot, USB connectivity, 10/100 Ethernet and audio output jack. Other features include access via a new optical fingerprint reader and card reader (with alarm and access control integration capability),  larger buttons and an interface with step by step instructions.

The makers add that the larger size of these LCD screens allows for easier viewing by the user and also permits the addition of more information to be displayed on the screen. Content, directions or other information is displayed at a resolution of 800 x 480. The front glass is rated at 7 Mohs hardness for scratch resistance yet only requires an activation force close to 0 grams for operation.

Keys available for access can be called up on the screen and “My Keys Out” and “KeyFind” are additional new operations that provide users with the location of a specified key, what keys have not been returned and when the key will become overdue. Reservations and optional comments can be entered at the site. For more information visit www.morsewatchmans.com
