Video stabiliser

by Mark Rowe

RIVA RS1000 is a single-channel video stabiliser from ViDiCore GmbH. The German manufacturers say it’s suitable for fixed cameras and PTZ domes. The device eliminates camera sway and other unwanted movements, especially for cameras with a high zoom factor, where small camera movements may cause a large jitter. The product comes with a video delay of less than 80ms, and includes an analogue input-output. As to installation, according to the makers it’s plug and play. The product offers an automatic algorithm ignoring burnt-in text and moving objects automatically.
The RS1000A video stabiliser comes with an automatic fog reduction control which provides image quality even under poor lighting or bad weather it is claimed. Both stabilisers, RS1000 and RS1000A, work at operating temperatures between minus 20 and plus 60 degrees C.
