Installer acquired

by Mark Rowe

Gloucester-based Allcooper have acquired Cambridge-based security installers Meridian Surveillance Systems Ltd.

Meridian provides CCTV and access control systems, installation and maintenance services to the commercial market. Its customers cover the South East of the UK, including several multi-national organisations. The acquisition brings a number of sizable maintenance contracts to Allcooper, and access to customers within London and the surrounding areas. This, with Meridian’s reputation made it a fit for Allcooper’s board of directors, who completed the deal in August 2013.

It’s the latest acquisition made by the family-run business, founded by father and son duo Gary and Gerard Cooper over 25 years ago. Allcooper now supports over 5,000 commercial and domestic customers.

The Allcooper directors say that they have invested a significant amount of time into managing the Meridian opportunity from conception to completion. Chief Executive Roman Cooper, pictured, said: “I’m pleased to officially announce our acquisition of Meridian. It was a fantastic opportunity to grow the business and increase our presence in the South East. We have taken on some major contracts with the acquisition and are working to deliver enhanced quality and greater protection for our new customers.”

Financial and Operations Director Dave Phillips added: “The acquisition adds great value to our business and we hope that it will be the first of many additions to Allcooper as part of our strategy to continually grow the business. The directors at Meridian were looking for a long-term successor to enhance the relationships they have developed with their clients over many years. I’m pleased that they saw the right qualities in Allcooper to offer us the opportunity and I’m confident we will continue to build on the strong foundations already laid by Meridian.”
