ACS score high hailed

by Mark Rowe

The security contractor Ward Security has hailed its best ever score (170 out of 174) in an independent audit on behalf of the Security Industry Authority (SIA), as part of its Approved Contractor Score (ACS) scheme.

The external assessing body Chamber Certification Assessment Service Ltd (CCAS) carried out a five day combined annual assessment of Ward during February 2015 that included a re-verification assessment for the ACS for Security Guarding, Door Supervision, CCTV and Keyholding sectors, as well as a surveillance audit for ISO9001:2008 (Quality), and a renewal and full audit for BS18001:2007 (Health and Safety). Auditors visited nine customer sites in the west, London and Manchester regions and did interviews with over 50 Ward employees and eight customers.

Keith Leyland, CCAS ACS Assessor reported: “The Company’s approach to improvement is excellent. The Assessor reviewed very many examples in all areas of customer services, fleet management, compliance, finance, HR and operations where the Company has applied the Plan-Do-Check-Act principle to developing improvement.”

Nikhil Kamboj, Compliance Director at Ward said: “Despite 25 per cent growth since last year, Ward Security has surpassed expectations in producing its best ever ACS score comfortably putting us in top 1 to 2pc of the SIA regulated suppliers”.

David Ward, Managing Director of Ward Security, pictured, added: “We are both delighted and proud to have achieved this record score for the company. Managing growth while maintaining standards takes an extraordinary level of commitment and dedication from all staff, so our thanks must go to all management and staff across the business. This achievement shows that our systems are robust, effect and more than adequate to accommodate substantial business growth. It also illustrates to our customers that our growth has not compromised the level of service we deliver. Indeed, the quality of our service has improved as the company has grown.”
