Dual barrier

by Mark Rowe

IDL unveiled its new concept product at Security and Policing in Farnborough in March.

The E-Gate dual barrier features two sets of glass doors which work independently of each other. According to the product makers, it combines aesthetic appeal with security and without being over-imposing. The manufacturers point to uses in border control, as the gate enforces the passage of one person at a time.

Taking into account the need for one barrier to close before the next one opens, it also features speed of processing, according to the company, with throughput speeds ensured by the multi-directional infrared beam matrix integral to the firm’s products.

While already taking orders, the company adds that it’s looking to further develop the concept building on the feedback received and will be taking this to IFSEC in June: visit http://www.ifsec.co.uk/.
