HD video recorder

by Mark Rowe

Dahua Technology, the Chinese manufacturer and supplier of video surveillance products based in Hangzhou, has launched XVR. The company describes the product as a HD video recorder and points to its open structure to be compatible with multiple access technologies.

XVR supports 4 mainstream analogue camera types in the market, not only traditional CVBS (analogue) camera, but also HDCVI, AHD and TVI; as well as IP cameras. The recorder recognises the signal formats from camera automatically, whether Dahua camera or third party cameras.

As for installing, POC (power over coaxial) makes for easier wiring of power cable, the manufacturer says. Users can switch video channel type in the OSD menu or HDCVI UTC controller.

The product has a newly designed chassis with fan and a hive structure for heat dissipation. Smart H.264+ Codec is applied to the recorder, to save up to 50 per cent on bandwidth and storage, it is claimed.

For more on the Dahua XVR line up, visit the company’s booth at Security Essen, #2A06, the trade show in Essen, Germany, from September 27 to 30.
