Dahua Technology, the manufacturer and supplier of video surveillance products based in Hangzhou, China introduces its new Pro series PTZ camera.

With the company’s Starlight feature, 25x optical zoom, auto-tracking and face detection, Dahua’s new Pro series PTZ camera will significantly expand the use of mid-range PTZ camera in the market, according to the firm. The new Pro series has the appearance of the SD59/SD50/SD52C models. Dahua’s Starlight feature combines the SONY STARVIS sensor with Dahua’s algorithm, for low noise and vivid images in challenging light the makers say.

Also, Wide Dynamic Range (WDR, 120dB) allows the new Pro series to offer more details and contents in scenes with intense back-light. The infra-red (IR) distance of these new cameras will be extended from 100m to 150m for surveillance coverage at night, such as in open and public spaces. The new PTZ cameras can zoom into images at up to 25x, for small and medium-sized enterprises’ applications such as capturing details of car number plates.

Auto-tracking, an intelligent function of the Ultra series, is a standard feature of the Pro series PTZ camera. The new pan and tilts can simultaneously record all tracks and capture more details when zooming in automatically. The products use H.265 compatible compression which the manufacturers say reduces bandwidth and storage costs by up to half. A frame rate of 60fps (frames per second) at 1080P can capture movements, as in casino or transport uses.
