Dome series

by Mark Rowe

New from the Hong Kong-based manufacturer WAMA is the PZ2 Series of dome cameras. The products feature H.265, starlight technology, true WDR (wide dynamic range) and long optical zoom function. Since H.265 video compression is getting more widely accepted with benefits such as bandwidth and storage savings, WAMA has upgraded all IP cameras in its product portfolio to support H.265.

The domes are built with SONY Starvis image sensors that deliver video by day and at night. The Starlight technology of these image sensors enables the cameras to capture colour videos in very low light, the makers say. The cameras also support true WDR, the sensor-based technology that minimises glare from sunlight or direct lighting.

The three models are suitable to be installed indoors or outdoors depending on applications. All three – the PZ2-T210, PZ2-T310, pictured and PZ2-T133 – offer H.265 / H.264 / M-JPEG dual streams; video analytics; and Micro SD slot for recording. The PZ2-T310, and PZ2-T2120 has a 12x optical zoom while the PZ2-T133 has 33x optical zoom. The PZ2-T310 has an infra-red (IR) range of 80m while the PZ2-T133 has an IR range of 120m.
