Wilson James acquisition

by Mark Rowe

Wilson James has announced the acquisition of The Security Group (TSG). The contractor says that it’s part of a long-term strategy to provide clients with holistic solutions to their security and guarding needs.

Wilson James says that the acquisition will help it meet increasing demand from customers for information-led solutions. Wilson James will take on around 200 TSG employees, and will form a new Technology Services business unit. TSG’s clients are mainly centred in the South East of England, public and private sector, and fits well with Wilson James’ customers, the firms say.

TSG’s guarding operations will be managed by Barry Dawson, Managing Director for Security at WJ, while technology will fall under James Bauer-Mein, the new Head of Technology. James will report to Gemma Quirke, recently appointed Chief Operating Officer at Wilson James.

Gemma Quirke said: “The acquisition of TSG will allow Wilson James to provide greater value to its clients, through a combination of consultancy, technology and skilled people. We look forward to welcoming TSG clients and employees to Wilson James.”

And James Bauer-Mein said: “The strategic plans for the new Wilson James Technology Services department align perfectly with ours. This acquisition will enable the latest security technologies and design that TSG specialise in, to be unified with Wilson James’ exemplary standing in the security industry.”
