Power station contract

by Mark Rowe

The security contract for Eggborough Power Station in Yorkshire has gone to Mitie, the facilities management company.

The contractor’s total security management business has a three year contract at the plant near Selby delivering 24 hour security staff.

The FM firm says it was awarded the contract based on its critical security environment expertise. It can offer its online operations software Workplace+, giving the client access to contract management information.

Jason Towse, managing director Mitie total security management, said: “I am delighted to be working with Eggborough Power Ltd. This is a sector where we can deliver subject matter experts to enhance the relationship through implementing best practice and information sharing with other security critical environments.”

And Kevin Doyle, EPL Head of Security, added: “EPL are happy to welcome Mitie onto site for the delivery of site security services. The award of this contract recognises Mitie’s experience in the security business sector and commitment to training and developing staff to provide high standards of performance. It is hoped that through a mutually supportive relationship between EPL and Mitie that the primary objective of promoting a safe and secure environment for the workforce and visitors will be achieved.”
