by msecadm4921

A Birmingham-based new train franchise, London Midland (www.londonmidland.com), says it plans installation of help points at all stations and a new CCTV system at 29 stations.

In the newspaper for the rail industry, Rail News, are advertised jobs: emergency planning and security manager; information and security manager; and revenue protection manager.

Also planned, a passenger information security centre to provide information to passengers, respond to help point enquires and monitor CCTV. And: a ‘London Midland Task Force’, which will combine security staff and British Transport Police to target crime and disorder. The franchise aims to achieve Secure Station accreditation at 73 stations within two years and Park Mark Safer Parking status at a further ten car parks. The train operator promises a zero-tolerance approach to graffiti, which will be removed within 24 hours.
