Campus Conference

Why Does Security only work Sometimes ? is the title of Prof Martin Gill of Perpetuity Research & Consultancy International (PRCI)’s talk on the key features of good security. It’s the first talk of the day `at the Safe on Campus conference on March 25, at the University of Salford.

Prof Gill will look at what happens or should happen, on campuses and various schemes to prevent crime including the new police accreditation featured in the March issue of Professional Security Magazine, "Secured Environments".

Other invited speakers include from Greater Manchester Police, Ian Seabridge, Acting Deputy Chief Constable; on counter terrorism, Detective Chief Superintendent Tony Porter, Head of the Counter Terrorism Unit, Greater Manchester Police; Bernard Hogan Howe Chief Constable of Merseyside on policing a university city; Assistant Chief Constable Alan Pacey of British Transport Police; and Bob Doyle, Director of Commercial Services, Skills for Securit.

Last but not least, on the work of the Community Disorder Reduction Partnerships – Supporting University Heads of Security; Don Brown (ex-superintendent), Head of the CDRP, City of Salford; and on Salford Campuswatch and Greater Manchester Police; Superintendent Anderson, Divisional Command – Salford Police Division.
