Newark Checked

by msecadm4921

Security Industry Authority (SIA) investigators and officers from Nottinghamshire Police were out on patrol last Friday October 10.

Seven venues were visited and all 19 door staff inspected held valid SIA licences.

Jacquie Parker, an SIA Head of Investigation said: “We were delighted that compliance in Newark was so high. This sends positive and reassuring message to the public, that an SIA licence is a symbol of professionalism.”

Newark Licensing Officer Paul Inman, of Nottinghamshire Police said:  "This is the first time we have carried out a partnership operation of this kind in conjunction with the Security Industry Authority and we hope it was the first of many. It was a hugely successful operation which showed 100 per cent compliance with the door staff registration scheme. This is an extremely positive result, which shows that establishments are committed to ensuring their door staff are fully trained and vetted for the role. Nottinghamshire Police are very pleased to be working with the SIA in this proactive way to maintain a high level of security in our town centres."
