Retail Theft Trigger

by msecadm4921

Checkpoint Systems has launched Nanogate, a security antenna that is so small and flexible, the makers say, it can be easily installed in “unprotected zones” within a store where thieves may hide and attempt to remove security devices.

Nano Gate works exclusively with Alpha’s 3*Alarm product to alert staff when merchandise is being tampered within store and activating an EAS alarm.

Nano Gate is it’s claimed simple to install – six screws and plug-n-play. The product requires no wires, no tuning and no service contract, and comes with a battery back-up option. Nano Gate triggers Alpha’s 3*Alarm technology, seeking to prevent thieves from taking retailer’s high-risk merchandise into restrooms, emergency exits, elevators, fitting rooms, and any other place retailer’s want to prevent the merchandise to go within the store.

Merchandise protected with Alpha’s 3*Alarm™ technology alerts staff when a product is being tampered with in-store, activates an Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarm when unpaid merchandise is leaving the store, and starts a continuous alarming for five minutes once stolen merchandise has left the store. Most thieves end up dropping the stolen merchandise and running away.

Larry Yeager, Vice President and General Manager for Alpha, said: “The majority of retailers do a fantastic job of protecting their stores to the best of their abilities and this has really paid dividends over the last year or so. The recent Global Retail Theft Barometer highlighted that shrinkage has begun to decline, thanks to the attention store operators are paying to the issue and the new tools available. Alpha solutions complement their efforts by providing innovative solutions to protect their high-theft high-risk merchandise.”

Nano Gate is claimed to be the first high-theft security device to provide targeted protection in specific high risk areas within a store. For more information visit –
