Griffin trained

Further staff members at the Nottingham-based security provider Octavian Security have been trained in counter-terrorism measures and crime prevention.

The company, which provides protection to businesses, sites and people across the UK, arranged for more than 50 security officers to undertake the Project Griffin session, delivered by Nottinghamshire Police.

Project Griffin seeks to encourage work with the police to deter, detect and counter terrorist activity and crime.

“As sector leaders in security training ourselves, we understand its importance in the modern world,” said Octavian Security’s commercial director Tony Mellor.

“We take the defence of both our clients’ premises extremely seriously, and so we expect to be able to offer the highest levels of protection. Our staff have been very appreciative, and now feel very confident in their capacity to deal with such situations.”
