Paris, Frankfurt desks

by Mark Rowe

The medical and security response service International SOS and the risk consultancy Control Risks have launched two new Security Desks, in Paris and Frankfurt. The new desks provide clients with support to local security managers in those cities, with access to the insight and assistance of the networks of both firms. This follows a localised Japanese-, Korean- and Chinese-speaking security desks in Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing which began in 2012.

Mick Sharp, Chief Operating Officer of Travel Security at International SOS and Control Risks, said: “The delivery of accurate and insightful security risk management support is tied directly to an understanding of cultural nuance and language capabilities. Being able to provide consulting advice, training and assistance in local language, combined with our global expertise and support, results in robust preventative security risk management measures for our clients and members. It also dramatically improves response during major escalations, such as natural disasters and security incidents.

“With the global economy continuing to grow, the increasing awareness of potential security risks[1] and growing emphasis on Duty of Care, organisations are seeking comprehensive measures to protect the workforce and resilience of their business. Our in-market led approach is already proving extremely successful and we are pleased to be strengthening this localised expertise and support with the opening of these two new security desks in major European markets.”

International SOS and Control Risks report seeing demand for security advice increase by almost 30 per cent in the past two years, and an 800pc increase since the formation of the alliance in 2008. They say that increasingly companies rely on security training and consulting services to design travel risk mitigation, and their business travellers and international assignees depend on advice to help keep them safe.

The new desks in Paris and Frankfurt are now ‘live’, handling security cases and distributing weekly security forecasts in French and German. Visit https://www.internationalsos.com/.
