BIM Technician / Operator – MEP

Location: Remote

Duration: 3 months, with potential extension

Rate: £300–£325 per day (depending on experience)

Role overview

The BIM Technician / Operator will support ongoing projects by producing and managing coordinated BIM models in a fully remote capacity. The role is intended to be long term, with the successful candidate moving from one project to the next on an ongoing basis, typically in 12-week cycles.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, update and manage Revit models, including pipework, cabling, containment and related MEP elements.
  • Work with cloud-hosted models in Autodesk Construction Cloud, including syncing, publishing and managing central models.
  • Link and coordinate multiple Revit models via Autodesk Construction Cloud, ensuring correct workflows for cloud collaboration.
  • Use Navisworks Manage for model review, clash checking and coordination.
  • Use Desktop Connector to connect Revit to the common data environment (BIM 360/ACC) and access cloud models.
  • Collaborate with engineers and BIM leads to maintain model quality, standards and correct information exchange.

Required skills and experience

  • Strong Revit experience (must have Revit and be confident as a daily user).
  • Hands-on experience working with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud and cloud-based Revit central models (syncing to central, publishing models, managing worksharing).
  • Experience with Navisworks Manage for coordination and clash detection.
  • Understanding of MEP models, ideally including pipework, cabling and containment.
  • Comfortable working remotely, self-managing workload and communicating clearly with distributed teams.

Desirable

  • Background in MEP design or coordination (likely to bring the required pipework/cable/containment experience).
  • Strong awareness of CDE workflows, version control and model federation in the cloud.
  • Experience on long-term framework or multi-project environments.

Additional information

  • This is a fully remote role with the intention to keep the right person busy on a long-term basis.
  • Interviews are scheduled for next week, with an expected quick start for the successful candidate.
