Role: Door Entry Engineer
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum
Are you a Door Entry Engineer with experience in access control and intercom systems? Looking to join a growing company working on exciting commercial and residential projects across your region? Technical Resources are recruiting for a Door Entry Engineer to join a reputable fire and security business delivering installation, maintenance and support services across a wide portfolio of sites.
Responsibilities:
● Installation of door entry systems (audio and video), including wiring, terminations and panel setup
● Routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs of door entry and intercom systems
● Fault diagnosis and resolution with minimal supervision
● Upgrade and replacement of outdated door entry systems
● Work on access control systems including Paxton, Videx, BPT, Hikvision, Comelit (depending on experience)
● Liaise professionally with clients, residents and property managers
● Completion of all job reports, compliance documentation, and handovers
● Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including use of PPE
Experience and Certifications Required:
● Minimum 2 years’ experience working with door entry or access control systems
● Knowledge of 2-wire, 4-wire, IP-based, and GSM entry systems
● Experience with leading brands such as BPT, Comelit, Videx, Aiphone, Hikvision, Fermax – desirable
● Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot faults independently
● ECS or CSCS Card – beneficial
● City & Guilds / NVQ in Electrical or Security Systems – desirable
● Full UK Driving Licence – essential
● DBS check may be required (for residential or education sites)
● Manufacturer training – advantageous but not essential
