Estimator – Physical Security Systems (Data Centre Projects)
Location: Hertfordshire
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £45,000–£55,000 DOE + Quarterly Bonus Scheme

A leading fire and security integrator is seeking a skilled Estimator to join its design team, focusing exclusively on physical security systems for data centre projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong commercial and technical insight who thrives in high-security, mission-critical environments.
About the Role
As an Estimator, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale physical security installations. You’ll collaborate with the design team, project managers, and commercial leads to ensure proposals are commercially viable, technically sound, and aligned with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
– Develop detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for access control, CCTV, and perimeter protection systems
– Analyse drawings, specifications, and client requirements
– Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and technical input
– Identify risk, value engineering opportunities, and compliance considerations
– Support budgeting, forecasting, and bid strategy development
Looking For
– Experience as an Estimator in physical security or related M&E sectors
– Solid understanding of access control, CCTV, and perimeter security technologies
– Familiarity with data centre environments is highly desirable
– Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ConQuest, Causeway, Excel)
– Strong communication and collaboration skills
– Based in or near Letchworth Garden City (or willing to commute)
– Experience with C•CURE and Lenel systems is desirable but not essential.
These are widely used access control platforms, and familiarity is a plus—but happy to train the right candidate with strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
