Security Service Engineer – Enterprise systems (Gallagher)
Salary: Up to £40,000 per year + excellent benefitsLocation: Birmingham & surrounding areas (field-based)Contract: Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking a service-focused Security Systems Engineer to join a leading provider of intelligent security and technology solutions. You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting electronic security systems across enterprise and public service environments, ensuring reliable performance, first-time fixes, and excellent customer service. Gallagher Access Control experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities

Service, maintain, and troubleshoot Intruder Alarms, CCTV & Access Control systems.

Provide reactive and planned maintenance visits, aiming for first-time fixes wherever possible.

Deliver on-site technical support and practical solutions for customers during service visits.

Undertake minor system upgrades, extensions, and remedial works as required.

Work confidently with Gallagher Access Control systems (configuration, diagnostics, upgrades).

Read and interpret site plans and survey documentation to plan and execute service work.

Complete accurate job documentation and ensure client sign-off in line with company standards.

Work safely and in compliance with Health & Safety regulations.

Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota where required – 1 week in every 4.

Advise clients on product improvements and upgrades to optimise system performance.
Skills & Experience
-
Proven service and maintenance experience with electronic security systems.

Hands-on Gallagher Access Control experience (essential), ideally certified.

Knowledge of other security platforms such as Genetec, Milestone, or similar.

Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Flexible, team-oriented, and able to support small installation or upgrade tasks when needed.
