Senior Director Corporate Security

We seek an experienced Senior Director of Corporate Security to lead security strategy and crisis management operations across Africa & Europe. This is a senior leadership role responsible for protecting people, assets, operations, and reputation across multiple complex markets. The successful candidate will be an African expert, act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, oversee regional security programs, and lead a geographically dispersed team operating in dynamic and occasionally high-risk environments.
The Role
As Senior Director, Corporate Security, you will lead the development and delivery of regional security and crisis management strategies across key markets including South Africa, Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, Kenya, Niger, Burkina Faso, France, Spain, and Germany. You will ensure the effective protection of people, assets, and operations while enabling business growth across diverse environments. This role requires international travel at short notice and the ability to work outside normal hours when responding to incidents or crises.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a geographically dispersed team of security professionals
Act as trusted security advisor to regional and country CEOs
- Deliver security strategy, crisis management, and risk management programs across Europe and Africa
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and regional leadership teams
- Collaborate with government agencies, law enforcement, regulators, and industry partners
- Implement and oversee regional security policies, standards, and governance frameworks
- Lead critical security programs including:
- Crisis management and response
- Travel and journey management.
- Executive protection.
- Threat intelligence and risk analysis.
- Security training and awareness.
- Event and operational security.
- Ensure effective incident reporting, investigations support, and security compliance.
- Conduct security audits and peer reviews across regional operations.
- Manage security budgets and resources to deliver effective outcomes.
- Provide strategic support to the Chief Security Officer on global initiatives.
The Person:
We are looking for a strategic security leader with deep operational experience in complex environments.
Key capabilities include:
- Extensive experience living or working in African markets.
- Proven ability to develop strategy while delivering operational security solutions.
- Strong leadership experience managing multicultural, geographically dispersed teams.
- Expertise in corporate security, crisis management, and risk mitigation.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, high-risk environments.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and fiscal management skills.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 10+ yearsโ experience in corporate security, risk management, or related leadership roles
- Experience in private sector security environments preferred.
- Experience managing regional or global security operations.
- Bachelorโs degree or equivalent professional experience
- Fluency in English required.
- Additional African language capability advantageous
