Job Title: Technical Pre-Sales Engineer – Access Control (Manufacturer)
Location: North UK (Nottingham–Leeds, hybrid/field-based)Salary: £50,000–£55,000 + benefits
The Opportunity
An experienced access control engineer looking to move off the tools into a manufacturer environment. This role positions you as the UK technical authority for a single access control platform, supporting sales teams, partners, and end users with system design, demonstrations, and advanced technical expertise.
The Role
You will bridge engineering, sales, and customers, focusing on solution design, product expertise, and technical enablement rather than installation. Working closely with internal sales teams and channel partners, you’ll ensure systems are designed, demonstrated, and supported to a high technical standard.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the technical specialist for the access control platform

Support pre-sales activity, solution design, tenders, and bids

Deliver product demos, workshops, and technical presentations

Assist partners with system architecture, integrations, and best practice

Provide 2nd-line technical support and act as an escalation point

Deliver technical training to partners and internal teams

Collaborate with product and engineering teams, feeding back field insights
Ideal Background
-
10+ years’ experience in access control or security systems

Strong enterprise platform experience (e.g. Lenel, Gallagher, C•CURE, Genetec)

Proven ability to design and support complex access control systems

Desire to move into a manufacturer role and become a product specialist
